I understand protecting your friend, even if you did think she was doing something wrong.

[ which isn't a great thing to admit, but it's true. Madoka is very easily swayed by emotions and friendship. ]

It was not okay. [ she won't make excuses for that. ] But nothing in this situation is.

All of us want to win. And Ray-kun wanted to win without killing anyone. Multiple people can win this contest, so it's - it isn't as if he needed to be eliminated like that...

.... That is not the impression I was given from speaking with him. Frankly, I expected more ruthlessness from the people here. [ like, aside from how brutal some of the deaths have been. ]

[ she's really torn on this though because - she's tried to uphold that violence is wrong. but also that the players aren't to blame for the way the game was set up.

but it's harder to swallow it when it's a friend who got hurt. but it also is hard to turn on a friend.

[ thank you exposition madoka. but as madoka now knows from her tragic backstory (tm) she has been dropped for much less, so, frankly, she's shocked. ]

I think it would be easy to. And I would understand that...

But I know that you and Catra-san are only working with the rules you were given. It's... Not your fault that the contest was designed for this.

And I wish that everyone would stay peaceful, because we could do it that way too, but - the bigger picture is important. Who made the rules is important. And... The fact that one of those rules is that everyone comes back. I can't ignore those details just because I'm angry.
