Jude | Week 1: Thursday Morning

[frilly]

[ Madoka is walking around kind of... Cautiously? With her hands behind her back, peering around like she's looking for something. She looks conspicuous, in the way that people tend to when they're trying to look inconspicuous.

Apparently the 'something' she was looking for was Jude, because she brightens a bit when she spots him and makes a beeline straight for him. ]

Oh...! Can I talk to you?

[ Talk about suspicious behavior, rather, concerning behavior... However, Jude's a bit in his own mind about everything that has been happening as he's walking to take notice to her before she calls out to him. ]

Madoka? [ He'll stop in his steps and wait for her to catch up to him. ] Of course.

[ Smiling softly. ]

Is there something wrong?

[frilly]

You said to come to you... For medical stuff, so...

[ After a moment of hesitation, Madoka holds out her right hand to him. There's a fresh wound on her palm, shaped like a smiley face. It looks like it was carved with a dagger. :) ]

[sedulitas]

[ Why this...

When she brings up the subject matter of medical things he doesn't know what he should be expecting but as soon as he sees the carved smiley face... Well, there goes his smile. ]

Wh, what happened?

[ Taking a hold of her hand gently. Oh boy... ]

How badly does it hurt?

[frilly]

I don't know. I just... It just appeared.

[ She winces at the touch, but tries to cover it up a bit. ]

It... Hurts a bit, but I can handle it. I couldn't find any bandages, or anything to disinfect it... If it needs that...?

[sedulitas]

[ He really doesn't like that answer. ]

It's better to be safe than sorry. [ Jude curses quietly to himself at how he wishes he could just instantly heal her with his artes. ] We should clean it up with something and at least cover it just in case.

[ Gently, he'll let go of her hand. ]

There should be some soap and water in the kitchen. Maybe we could find something that would work in the meantime too.

[frilly]

[ She's not too happy about it, either. But, nods. ]

I'd like to hide it, if possible. It's one thing if I fell and skinned my hand or something, but...

This might make people scared.

[sedulitas]

[ Jude just nods his head. He also doesn't want to draw too much attention to it. ]

Don't worry. I'll make sure to wrap it so that it'll only look like you accidentally cut yourself. Something this should heal moderately quickly.

[ Which probably isn't exactly the ideal thing to say but it's far better than the alternative. ]

But there might be something around here that I can bring to you later that would help.

[frilly]

[ she hadn't been able to find a first aid kit, so...? ]

... Something that will help?

[sedulitas]

Yeah.

[ A nod. ]

I spoke to one of the gods and they told me that Patience has some medicinal plants somewhere in the courtyard. I'll go look for it and bring them to you later.

[ ... ]

I hadn't thought I'd need to find it so soon. Sorry.

[frilly]

Thank goodness...

[ that's better than having no medical supplies. Madoka frowns at that last bit, though, because. ]

It's not your fault. I just appreciate you helping me at all.

[sedulitas]

I said I would and I'm not going to say things I won't do.

[ assuming that they're walking this entire time towards the kitchen— ]

Now let's get that washed and wrapped up until I can get something better for it.

[frilly]

[ Sounds right.

Madoka heads to a sink to run it under water and wash it out, trying not to flinch and keeping quiet until: ]

... I wonder who did it.

[sedulitas]

[ Jude wanders around the kitchen to look for a clean small towel of sorts that he rips into thinner strips. It isn't the most ideal bandage but it'll work for what he needs of them. He'll return to Madoka's side, with them draped over his forearm. ]

Can you think of anyone who might have been able to do this?

[frilly]

No... I'm sure that it has to do with a power from the gods, but... I don't know who anyone is aligned with.

[sedulitas]

[ Jude grimaces at that. He doesn't like that idea and will reach out take a hold of Madoka's hand once it's been washed clean to gently pat it dry. ]

I don't either. No one here is exactly being forthcoming with who they're presenting.

[ Himself included. ]

[frilly]

It's understandable...

This makes it feel like it really is dangerous, so I get why they wouldn't want to tell.

[sedulitas]

[ He finishes wrapping up her hand and it's bandaged up nice and tightly! It'll look somewhat like a finger-less glove and won't be too tight that she can't or won't be able to move her hand. ]

Hopefully it won't get much more dangerous than this.

But if they do, I will do what I can to make sure you're okay. So, please, come to me again if anything else happens.

[frilly]

[ Madoka flexes her hand a bit to test it, then gives him a small bow of gratitude. ]

I think it will, but - thank you. For the thought. I'll try not to bother you too much.

[sedulitas]

N, no it's fine. It's not a bother.

[ he'll wave his hands in front of himself for a moment. ]

I'll come to you too if I need anything; that's fair, right? We'll get through this easier if we're together.

[ Who cares if it's a competition?? ]

[frilly]

[ competition shmompetition ]

Yes, of course. I don't know how I can help, but I'll always do my best.

[sedulitas]

Your best is all anyone can ask of you.

[ no one can fault her for that, right?? Jude certainly won't. ]

I'm going to go look for that plant right now unless there's something else that's the matter.

[frilly]

No - just this. Should I wait here?

[ or go with...? ]

[sedulitas]

You can come with me. Two eyes will be better than one for what we'll be looking for.

[frilly]

[ Madoka nods, and steps up beside him, holding her injured hand in the other, in front of her chest. ]

What does it look like?

[sedulitas]

I...have no idea.

[ sorry madoka..... ]

I'm aware of what I should be looking for but I'm not sure if it's what I'll find.

[frilly]

O-oh, um... Well, I'm sure we'll find... Whatever we're looking for.

[ hopefully??? ]

[sedulitas]

Yeah. I'm sure the god wouldn't have lied to me about finding what I would need.

[ onward to the courtyard! ]

They should be by the statues.

[frilly]

I wonder if they lie at all.

[ oh well. onward! ]
